Romans 11:20

"Do not be arrogant, but be afraid." Our connection to God is 100 percent God holding on to us. It's based on our faith in His grace. We can start to slip when we either doubt His loving grace or we put our faith in our own goodness. Either way it's pride that pulls on us, and the result is the same. I think this verse is saying that it's healthy to have to have a fear of our own pride. 1Cor.10:12 says, "Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall."
