Judges 13-14

The story of Samson always leaves me a little baffled. One on hand, he is divinely conceived, separated from birth, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. On the other, he is eating from dead animals, partying with the enemy, and marrying an unbeliever. Is he an example of how not to live? Or is God saying that he can use anyone no matter how they mess up? Maybe both. Are there any insights anyone has on Samson?

  1. I don't know about Samson. :(
Don't like him, that's for sure. I suppose we can see that God used him to destroy the enemies of God, even tho he didn't live a life that honored God. God's purposed will prevail and He can find a way to make that happen, even when the leader of the people is not doing right and makes terrible decisions.

  2. John Courson has some interesting insight on Samson that's not all negative. Maybe it's a male perspective because I agree with JaNahn, he's not someone I would want to meet.Samson did make it into Heb.11 hall of faith.
